British gymnast Cameron MacKenzie has chosen to represent South Africa in a bid to qualify for Rio 2016. MacKenzie is a European junior team gold medallist with Britain and finished second in the vault and sixth in the all-around at last year's national championships. BBC NEWS

Cameron has much to look forward to and progress towards in the future. The African Championships will be held in Pretoria on the 28th of March, where Cameron will be targeting the Gold in the all around event. After this the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow will present a challenging opportunity.

Cameron was born in Humansdorp, South Africa. He grew up on a farm on the Eastern Cape, and later Stellenbosch and Jeffrey's Bay. During his time in Stellenbosch Cameron was introduced to Gymnastics at the Van Der Stal gymnastics club.
